COLT Telecom are a B2B provider of data, voice and managed services. They own their own dedicated, Europe-wide fibre-optic network, and as such occupy their own market niche with very few really direct competitors.
Whilst working with the guys at Sapient during the end of 2006 and the first few months of 2007, I was lucky enough to work on a programme of online development for COLT.
This ambitious (mainly) technical programme will see COLT completely upgrade their (frankly, creaking) web presence as a whole, which includes a public-facing corporate site, multiple customer-facing administration portals and a host of partner and client extranets.
Working alongside technical, content and brand teams my work with COLT and Sapient has involved:
- User research - designing and executing a customer and stakeholder research programme, including all analysis presentation and write-up
- Information architecture - creating IA solutions for the public-facing offering and self-care transactional systems, including work on taxonomy, process flows and wireframes
- Client engagement - with senior stakeholders across the organisation
